Senior Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic Civil Engineer that's seeking a new opportunity with a company that's set in an idyllic location, enjoys good relationships with a long-term client base and has an exciting project portfolio which will appeal to those wishing to develop and enhance their knowledge, skills and career. Work is fast paced, with a commercial private sector bias but also working in the industrial and residential sectors.

The ideal candidate will have strong client facing skills, a minimum or 7 years' experience and preferably be Chartered, if not, have a desire to become Chartered with which the company will assist.

The Role

  • Strong communication and client facing skills
  • Proficient in drainage design using Microdrainage and some knowledge of Civil 3D
  • FRA, drainage strategies and SUDS experience
  • Represent the company at meetings with clients, suppliers and other 3rd parties
  • Ensure an excellent level of service is delivered consistently, design decisions are met, and project work is carried out within the agreed deadlines and budgets
  • Comfortable liaising with Technicians and Engineers and checking designs
  • Chartered engineer or near Chartered status preferable
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience
  • Highways experience

Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, dedicated structural engineer to join us, working with some of the largest retailers in the country. We have a consistently growing and varied workload, mostly in the retail & commercial sectors, which will appeal to those wishing to develop and enhance their knowledge, skills and career. The practice delivers a first-class service to its reputable clients, resulting in an excellent client base and long-standing relationships.

The ideal candidate will have strong client facing skills, a minimum or 5 years' experience and preferably be Chartered, if not, have a desire to become Chartered with which the company will assist.

The Role

  • Undertake detailed structural engineering design on retail / commercial projects
  • Prepare technical schedules, reports and designs at a variety of project workstages
  • Plan and help manage production of CAD / BIM models and documentation, working closely in conjunction with technicians
  • Represent the company at meetings with clients, suppliers and other 3rd parties
  • Ensure an excellent level of service is delivered consistently, design decisions are met, and project work is carried out within the agreed
  • deadlines and budgets
  • Proficient in Tekla or alternative building modelling software
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of structural design using a variety of building materials including traditional build, steel frame,
  • reinforced concrete and timber frames, ideally working with significant structures.
  • Ability to accept a degree of responsibility in a team-based organisation, combined with ability to work independently
  • Able to take on some responsibilities in managing financial aspects of some projects preferable
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree BEng / BSc or Master’s degree MEng / MSc. Chartered or near Chartered
